Dance
A level Dance is a dynamic qualification which gives you the opportunity to develop your creative, practical and intellectual abilities alongside transferable skills valued by higher education and employers such as team working, communication and analysis.
This specification explores both historical and current dance practices and a range of dance styles allowing you to develop existing skills and to widen your current dance vocabulary.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements: 6 in GCSE Dance or if GCSE Dance has not been taken at least 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above including English language and previous dance experience preferably in ballet, modern or contemporary is strong advised.
BEYOND SIXTH FORM
This qualification supports progression to study Dance at higher education level and also helps to develop the skills required to perform dance at a professional level.
Extra-Curricular activites
The school has a rich history of performing arts, providing opportunities to perform dance and also to lead other students in activities and to choreograph routines.

Assessed in a practical exam worth 80 marks and 50% of the A level.

Knowledge, understanding and critical appreciated of two set works.
